We get kids on bikes.

We build character and community.

We change lives and create lifelong athletes.

What is NICA?

The National Interscholastic Cycling Association is a leader in the youth mountain biking movement. With leagues across the country, NICA is transforming the way kids experience youth sports, using mountain bikes as a tool to build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities.

There are no tryouts, there’s no bench: everyone rides, and everyone has a place in NICA.

Utah NICA Values:

Fun. Inclusivity. Equity. Respect. Community.

What is Utah High School Cycling League?

The Utah High School Cycling League (UHSCL) was founded in 2019 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) Project League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).

We facilitate the development of high school and middle school teams/clubs for grades 6-12 and provide the education, training, licensing and insurance for coaches and volunteers. UHSCL is the premier youth cycling program that produces high-quality mountain bike events and races that emphasize the value of participation, camaraderie, positive sporting behavior and well-being over competition.

Long story short? We are a safe, inclusive, fun community for kids on bikes.

Programs

UHSCL is more than racing—it’s a year-round community that helps develop the whole person through both competitive and non-competitive programs.

Teams

Whether you are a student or coach, the league wants to do everything we can to help you form a club/team at your local high school or community.
